Pocket money for 12 year olds?

I've created a problem for myself ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I've sorted the 12 year old DTs with a bank account which has a debit card. Of course they now want to use it. (Apple Pay and banking app)

Up until now I've just paid for stuff, ordered stuff or given them cash depending on the circumstances.

But now I need something more formal.

How much are you guys giving 12 yo weekly or monthly? What rules do you have around spending? Reckon DS could spend most of it on snacks. He also has an endearing habit of paying for stuff for others. But that needs a bit of "steering. ๐Ÿคจ

Do they have to work for that money? Is there a concept of getting some kind of "allowance" alongside working for extra? What about teaching saving?!

Help! I'm lost at sea! ๐Ÿคฃ
