Can we disable the edit function? It is it mandatory??

Yep it happens a lot on here, I've had it happen to me.

The change of font is a bit annoying but liveable.

Anyway pretty much every other site allows you to edit.

Editing isn't working for me.

FFS OP we've been begging for years (since 2014 in my case) for an edit function!

Because in the time it takes you to write a second post correcting the first, 15 people will have posted laughing at your typo.

Ha - yes, I guess! That just makes it easy to identify the petty, smug, pedantic twats on the thread though.

It's not that big a deal, surely. I'd you don't like it, don't edit your posts. 🤷

And they'll look even more smug and pedantic than ever.

It may permanantly change the smug and pedantic personality of the site as it gets harder to spot trivial errors and derail threads completely 😂

I can edit some of my posts but not others, it is really irritating 😬

We've kind of had an edit button though via preview post, which enables you to view and edit your post prior to posting.
I don't have the edit function, but I'm not on the app.
The font on the edited posts is quite small in comparison to the normal font.

Tough bananas. Most people are chuffed to bits with the edit function, and welcome it. As a pp said, the word 'edited' at the bottom of the post is no more intrusive than photos, huge links, and gifs!

They've also updated the talk guidelines so they can ban you if you use the edit function to do that kind of thing.

There are some of us who still can't read edited posts as the font becomes tiny.

I like that I can correct typos, however, discovered today that I have to be really quick, more like 10 seconds than 10 minutes.

Maybe a smaller button would be better, or just the word 'edited' and the option to add a reason as is possible on other sites.

Yes, I really struggle the change of font size and end just not reading the edited posts.

Edited posts look normal to me except for the button. But I just use chrome, rather than the app.

For those of you who don't have a problem, could it be you have not changed your phone settings to a larger font due to visual impairment. Could it be Mumsnet don't mind making edited posts illegible for those of us with visual impairment, considering its been like this for over two weeks now?

Why don't you just use 'preview' option before posting?
