I want to talk about my builders

They're amazing, the best I've ever had :).

They change into overalls and work shoes when they get here, they've got their own kettle, microwave, tea/coffee, milk and sugar (not because I won't give them any, they just turned up on day one with it all).

They have a 10 minute tea break in the morning and one in the afternoon, and half an hour for lunch.

They arrive at 8.30 and leave at 6, they even work on Saturdays. They're just kind and polite and nice and good - and TIDY! And I love them :). I hope it doesn't sound like I'm boasting or being smug - I've had bad builders too - but I just really wanted to share how fab they are!

you need to tell us a rough area you are in in case we want to pm you for their number. They sound amazing!

They are amazing! It's so stressful having building work done and I was dreading it, but they are making it as easy as building work ever can be!

I'm in the South East and would happily share details but I do know they're really busy.

Ours was amazing too. He was so tidy, I would worry that he thought the kitchen was messy! Cheerful, neat, clean. Really nice guy. We waited 18 months for him but it was worth it.

Awww how lovely!

So please for you! That’s a lovely story, after all the slagging off they usually get. Ask them if you can share their details!

Wow - not often people rave about the builders.

However, is it just me, or is anyone else getting Julia from Motherland vibes?

You'll miss them when they've gone, Fwendi!

My last lot were amazing too. The head guy was an actor who started doing building work between jobs, and now has a great team of people (he still acts too). He has a daughter with MH issues and occasionally overhearing him talk to her on the phone and he is the most gentle and caring man, but is also exacting with his workmen. All I can add is every one of them was polite, tidy, prompt, and took a lot of pride in their work. He only works locally, never has to advertise, and is always booked up weeks in advance (I lucked out as planning delayed a job so he could slot me in and I was flexible too).

So were ours-arrived 7.45am, left 4.30pm, no nipping off to finish off other jobs. I bought a ton of biscuits but they didn't really eat them-drank gallons of tea though!

They left the place tidy at the end of each day and on completion cleaned everything and took all their rubbish. We've had a couple of snagging issues and they came back straight away to sort. They were genuinely nice chaps.

Our ndn had a nightmare with their builders so we were very lucky and yes there's some cowboys out there but also some great ones.

I had some good people from Timberwise.
