Bloating throughout the day

My stomach is (almost) flat when I wake up in the morning.

As the day goes on, particularly after my evening meal, I bloat. A lot. It’s worse the more carbs were in the meal, but doesn’t seem specific to gluten as it happens after a jacket potato and beans. I look about 20 weeks pregnant by the time I go to bed.

Does this happen to anyone else, how do you combat it? Is it normal or not? Makes me feel very self conscious as past mid afternoon I personally feel it’s really obvious to others

Yes! I have an intolerance to a few foods / IBS. I just roll with it, it’s more common than you think. I avoid tight fitting clothes in the evening, if I was I would eat less during the days. It’s super annoying

Thank you. I’m sorry you have it too! It’s annoying. I bet you’re right that more people have it than I notice, I guess we are all ultra aware of our own bodies and image. Wish there was a fix!

You could try digestive enzymes such as Enzymedica. Or an elimination diet to try to find the culprit(s).

I was like this until recently. I blamed it all on the menopause, then I mentioned it to my G.P who recommended Optibac probiotics, they’re not cheap but good.

I also have a teaspoon of turmeric in hot water with a little honey and coconut milk(I’m lactose intolerant) first thing in the morning and before bed. These two changes have made an amazing difference.

no more bloat or trapped wind, it’s wonderful, I feel so much better.
