I think you can get really nice ‘new mum’ prepped meals

Nothingbuttheglory · 23/08/2023 20:23

Is it her first baby? Amazon voucher (she'll come across loads of things she suddenly needs) / chocolate / Deliveroo or similar. Or a voucher for a cleaner to come! Make sure baby toys are very soft and fluffy.

Vouchers for Cook! Or just actually turn up with a home cooked meal and hold baby whilst she eats it

Vouchers for cook.

Thank you! I was thinking cook voucher!
Baby toys I mean a soft book or something for when a bit bigger.

Someone got me a £50 boots voucher, prob the best present because it lasted me a good few months as my DDs needs changed

MariaVT65 · 23/08/2023 20:42

I was personally overloaded with soft toys and clothes. Definitely something practical like cook voucher, any other kind of voucher, or bring her a home cooked meal.

A friend also got me a subscription to graze boxes.

Vouchers from cook was a godsend for us! I didn’t feel so guilty living on a ready meal life for a while. We also got sent an postal afternoon tea thing from M&S (tea bags, cake, shortbread) - DH and I (well DH made it) loved making ourselves a cupa and some cake when we got back from those first newborn walks with Dc. For baby either toys or clothes work! 😀

Best presents I received were vouchers definitely. Ones for jojo maman bebe, M&S, Next & John Lewis. They can pick what they like then and could even use the M&S one for food.

Cook voucher and a nice book for the baby, something with their name in somehow if you can. They can save it for when they're older.
Dd got some beautiful books that she'll have forever.

SeriousFaffing · 23/08/2023 21:34

For our first baby, hands down the best gift we got was a tin of muffins, cookie and brownies with a couple of soft baby toys from the Beverley Hills Bakery (UK). Honestly, brilliant.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 23/08/2023 21:45

Some they can eat with one hand.

An insulated mug with a lid

A meal prep service

A massage voucher

Not baby clothes or soft toys

A gift for baby and a gift for her. A nice body lotion or chocolates. Food always went down well with me when I has newborns, in particular sweet things when I was tired and needing energy.
