Anyone with Utility Warehouse?

Just switched to them after moving home.

I've always been on top up meters and am a bit worried about an end of month bill.

Is there a way to check your usage to try and get an idea of what my bill might be?

I'm used to topping up every few days.

Also on my top up meters I used about £140 per month gas and electric and UW estimated I would use £280 here (it has 2 more rooms than last place)

I don't understand how folk say they are a MLM when you are buying gas and electric at whatever rate they are selling it at?
They do have partners that can sign folk up but you get the same rates going direct on the website.
The more services you have the cheaper your energy rates are.

They do bill to reads as long as they are on your account on the last day of the month.

If you want to change supplier, just look at the price per kWh and standing charge they are offering, and go for the cheapest. Don't compare monthly DD amounts as these are just based on estimated annual usage and it's a false comparison.

I mean saying they are an MLM like its a bad scam or something. It's just Gas and Electric, the rates are all available online and under the price cap rates. It's not that deep.

It's the ethos of the company, in my opinion. It's deeper than just gas and electric. Forever living is not just aloe Vera.

Forever Living is a pyramid scheme preying on people selling them a fantasy life then they end up in debt with a garage full of aloe vera trying to sell it to their friends and family. No ones got a garage full of gas and electric trying to punt it on. The two are not comparible.

I'm not even with them now, I've got a tracker elsewhere but the hate for them on here is just weird.

No garage of aloe Vera but they're always trying to get you to sign up to SIM cards or broadband. Same mentality. Cult.

When I was signed up to Shell energy it was the same though - emails offering incentives to take on XYZ.

It does sound as some "distributors" are pushy. Mine isn't 🤷🏽‍♀️ she notified me when the fixed rates were starting/ending during the crises and reminded me to check on line whether it was better to switch or not. Never any pressure to take on anything else. So the maths myself.

But the other services aren't great value so what you gain on G&E you lose by paying more than you need to for mobile sims, broadband etc.

Plus to get the best deal you need to pay £200 pa for a boiler service and insurance policy.

Moneysavingexpert has done an analysis that concludes it might work out a decent deal in certain circumstances eg if you shop in Sainsburys because you can use a card that gets you 10% off.

But it all sounds a bit fiddly and they also have you paying £12 a month for a mobile sim that costs £3 a month elsewhere.

@PickUpTheDogAndBone no. No links to UW other than a customer.

When we switched to them DH had done his homework and they were one of the cheapest and had the Which? recommendation and still do.

His parents and mine also came to UW in the same way, via Which? No commission paid.
