So, having a party for birthday which is soon and want to play some of my house/techno/trance classics.

However, there are 2 tunes which I can’t think of for the life of me!

1994/1995 up to 2000 hit me with your house/Ibiza anthems please. Bonus points if you went to The Gallery or any of The Cross club nights on Friday/Saturday nights.

When you say you can't remember two tunes, do you mean you remember the music but not what they're called? Because you can sing into google and it identifies the track- I did it yesterday and found a track I'd been trying to find for years (Dreaming by Ruff Driverz). I'd only whistled a bit of the melody and it got it!

Gonna try that! Twice I’ve heard a ring tune on a bus in city of London and out of a car stereo and I was like they’re the tunes I used to love.

How amazing, I never knew this!

A few things from my 90s Spotify playlist that might hit the mark! …some tracks before 94 though but would still be getting played at that time.

Thank you!

Listened to @Shade17’s playlist earlier, thank you!

I literally like anything from drum and bass (the brilliant Alex Reece So Far So Good) to jungle to house to… well not mad keen on garage or the Gabba! (Jungle education courtesy of DB).

If I had to pick one techno track only from early 90s it would be Sined Roza. It's prob 1990/91 but was definitely still played a lot 94/95.

HorsePlatitudes · 25/08/2023 22:11

This google thing…. Would it work with tapped out drum rhythms ? There’s a song I used to dance to in 93/94 which starts off with a lot of drum, the same beat as the obvious child by Paul Simon. And I can not find it.

808KateO · 25/08/2023 22:13

@HorsePlatitudes 20HZ by Capricorn?

Not sure I was clubbing then? I’m basically started at 24 which was the years I said but was a mix of house/techno various nights from Debbie Does Dallas, Camden Palace , Hanover grand, the cross, Strawberry sundae, the fridge a lot (escape from samsara), the Gallery Turnmills, The End, Sugar Candy. That’s not even scraping the sides but I was lucky as my best mate’s boyfriend worked at MTV so we were on the guest list for a lot of we made friends with DJs and then guest list a lot. A favourite place to go when I lived near there was Brockwell Lido club nights. All London based though did go up Zap club in Brighton and of course Ibiza Wink.

bloody hell that’s loads! 🫣 I quite literally was out a lot!

God I loved the cross

It’s reopened as a venue but posher with a restaurant Amdahl club in the same area. If I want to revisit it I watch the Spaced episode. I literally spent about 3 years of my life there!

One night my DB who went to Bagleys just 2 mins away said come with us. So I was like yeah yeah ok. I lasted 3 hours there before rushing back to the cross and their VIP room!
