Anyone else a bit shit at the big picture self care / grooming stuff ?

Im 50. I should have my shit together.

I can do the basics - shower daily, wash hair ( but then just tie it up, usually while its still wet) brush teeth, clean clothes. I can even manage a bit of lippy.
BUT
My wardrobe is a mess of clothes that dont fit and / or I dont like.
I live in southern Europe and my swimwear is a mess - nothing matches or fits properly, its all old.
My grey roots are about 3 inches long, the ends of my hair are awful, so it just stays up.
Its not a time thing- my kids are adults , I only work part time.
Its not a money thing - I can afford to get my hair cut and coloured, I could buy clothes ( not a full wardrobe at once , but add things ). Its more of a putting myself last mindset.
Anyone else like this ? Anyone got any ideas how to change this ?

Change one thing at a time, I would suggest hair as it'll make you feel really good and spur you on to sort out the rest.

I know what you mean,we spend a life time putting others first but that's not a good thing.

I’m a work in progress but one thing which helps me is to make the next appointment as I am paying and leaving the last. So you then have a fixed routine of getting your hair cut and restyled every 8 weeks, legs waxed every 4 weeks, etc.

With the clothes thing, I would recommend going though your wardrobe ruthlessly and getting rid of anything which doesn’t fit, looks tatty or you just don’t like. That will mean you can’t just reach for them because they are comfortable and will also show you the gaps you urgently need to fill and make it easier for you to choose new clothes which will work with what you have already and want to keep. If there was something in the didn’t fit or looked tatty pile which was a genuine favourite and looked good on you in better days, you could always buy a like for like replacement

Try casual clothes that are in a narrow range of colours. So if green suits you, only buy clothes that are in various shades of green. You’ll feel a lot more put together.

As for hair, why not let the grey grow out? Then work out what colour clothes will show the grey to its advantage.

@Katrinawaves thats a brilliant idea, Im going to do that today.
@Martedi I would grow the grey out if it was even, maybe in another 3- 5 years time. I like the idea of narrowing the colours of my clothes.
