My workplace uses Teams and our internal directory heavily, alongside LinkedIn. There is an expectation that you upload a photo of yourself as a display photo.
I am in a senior role where it’s not the done deal to upload a generic photo of yourself like on an evening/occasion out. It’s either a purpose-taken LinkedIn style headshot taken in 4k against a grey backdrop, or the CEOs posting a smiley selfie to look “approachable”. I’m not senior enough to post a selfie imo, so I just wanted advice on how to take a decent photo and what to avoid.
I toyed with the idea of a smiley photo and editing the background out, but the background editing app I tried looked really obvious. Also I’m not very photogenic!
