@Cotswoldbee I am Australian and I absolutely loved this show. The theme song and credits were the motivation for me to visit Amsterdam firstly at the age of 22, and then several more time over the next 15 years. It still very frequently strikes as an ear worm. Pathetically, when I'm driving I sometimes imagine myself driving around Amsterdam a la Van der Valk as I hum away. I as even motivated to read Nicholas Freeling's books.

Wasn't so keen on the Matt Monroe sung version, "And you smiled", but sometimes find myself singing it.
