If you have two cats is one of them a liar?

Or, maybe, is one of them more credible? Because if my ginger asks for food, we assume it's a try on-but if it's the tabby, we assume genuine hunger...

No, they’ve bloody teamed up and both give us the same lies that they’ve never been fed in their entire LIVES

Yes, the skinny one is always pestering for food (she regularly cons a second breakfast out of whoever is second to get up on the pretext that the other has neglected her needs) and our plump one tends to save it till she is actually hungry.

Our 4 are an organised syndicate.

We only have one these days but we all know she tells porkies. She'll try it on with us all in turn to get multiple breakfasts. Unfortunately for her, she's very fat and is on a diet so we all check with each other before giving her so much as a single crunchy.

YANBU

DH and I now check with each other before feeding the cats. One of them is a giant liar. I use the word giant because he is a very good and convincing liar. It took about 6 months to realise wha he was doing.

Yes, my eldest cat is always asking for food. She bites me if I refuse as well 😂 she's fine health-wise, just food fixated.

ifonly4 · 22/08/2023 14:17

According to my two, no one feeds them on the one full day I work. No matter how quiet I am coming through the front door, one is already in the hall and the other is pottering that way, before he plonks himself in front of cat food bowl (he's nearly five and old before his time😹).

This is why there’s no equivalent of childline for cats- they just wouldn’t be able to manage the call volumes.
