My daughter has homework home from school and she’s unsure. Im unsure.

does this question mean we can only use the 3 across with one up at each end or can we use 2 shapes to tile the plane.

I have tried to tile the plane but trying different placements of the same shapes but continually stuck with gaps.

I think you have to just use the shape they gave.

I would try:

Click in the upside down one.
Then treat that as one shape, keep in the same orientation and try them in a kind of diagonal.

As long as you keep a repeating pattern you don't need to cover the edges as the plane extends in all directions. imo.

There will ALWAYS be gaps, I just did this in Exel to be sure. But I agree with @TeenDivided , that looks to be the most pleasing configuration... just draw them up to the edge and state there will be halves etc for the edges.

The plane is supposed to be infinite so there will be no gaps when using the configuration of @TeenDivided

The grid has pointy bits on the edges to signify it Carrie’s on rather than a hard boarder.

It not clear from the question though.
