Is this usual for tenancies - ID asked for one person only

Only I was asked for photo ID, I’m the lead tenant with income from 2 jobs. My friend is unemployed on long term benefits, and wasn’t asked for any documents to support her proof of right to rent - not even a full birth certificate and benefits letter, nothing. She only had to fill out a form with her details. Is this normal?

Nope not normal. Right to rent rules apply for all tenants.

That’s what I was thinking, like surely they’d have asked her too and not just me. It’s a joint tenancy. We are going to sign it at the end of September.
