Well what is it?

I'm not clicking on a random Telegraph link.

Notveryhappy1 · 21/08/2023 15:38

It is an article from todays Telegraph titled 'Mumsnet embraces AI with chatbot'. I thought people might be interested in reading it.

Sounds pretty cool to me, but I like data and generally find this sort of thing quite interesting. I bet they could discover a wealth of information hiding in these threads. I’m sure it’ll be used more for marketing than influencing any parenting issues, but hey ho, capitalism always comes first.

OK then - I'll probably have a look, but it would have been helpful to have that information in your OP. It's a two word thread title and the wording in the link gives no clue as to what it might be about.

I thought the same about marketing @ReeseWitherfork , and agree there must be loads of information, considering how big Mumsnet is. Hopefully some of it will be put to good use.

I found another article online that said they’d found out something about skincare problems in menopausal women… and a suggestion they’d sold that information to skincare companies… (I think, I read this half paying attention earlier). I hope that means they’d use that information to reformulate their products to target those skincare problems, but something tells me they’ll change their marketing to just claim their existing products do the job.

But yeah, I still think it could be quite powerful and useful.

Penis beakers coming to an advert near you!

Woah! I don't really understand it, but I'm sure it would make an interesting episode of Black Mirror.

Notveryhappy1 · 22/08/2023 08:52

Haha @ReeseWitherfork Penis breakers. I have not heard that for a while. Yes it would be a good episode of Black Mirror @Random789

Heres to hoping they do reformulate the skincare products, rather than just change the labelling. It could be put to such good use, but the cynic in me thinks capitalism wins.

I'd like to see how they are mitigating the huge data protection risks that come with using large language models.
