How to waste a day away when WFH

A day full of Teams meetings today, with at best one hour breaks…

How do I spend these breaks? Of course, I can do the right thing and work, as I have done for the last 30 years. But we are going through a restructure and my card is marked, so it makes no difference if I work hard or mess about. Plus PMS…

What can I do with myself in these breaks to enjoy the day?

I second having a coffee/tea outside and getting a bit of housework/laundry/admin done. Unless you prefer Damoginpopup’s suggestion.

Put yourself on 'do not disturb' mode as you are doing Important Things and need to focus 😊

I'm just used a break to tidy up the garden. It's great what you can do in 30 mins. Feels like cheating and getting ahead of housework during work hours too, win-win.

Have you got to be on camera for the meetings? I had an 8hr meeting I had to be present in last summer but didn't need to actually participate. I had it on my phone in my pocket with Bluetooth headset and used the time to build a shed. It was one of those keter plastic ones.

I have also done this! Was sitting in on a 2 hour camera-off meeting and built my daughter's Wendy house while listening in. What does it matter if I'm not sitting down, really? I'm a tactile learner so I actually do better when in motion while taking things in.
