I'm mid 40s all my teeth are f#%ked I have had all my bottom ones removed. I could not have temporary denture because I Just could not manage with them. So I have had no bottom teeth for around 2 years. It's been really hard with eating . Mid September I'm going to be getting my bottom implant teeth put in. I feel so excited. I really want to eat a packet of Nik naks 😋

Only thing is my top teeth are still f%#ked and it's going to look awful with lovely bottom teeth and shit top ones. It's taken me such a long time to save . Anyway I will Need to save some money to get my top teeth taken out and hopefully temporary denture will be easier to wear on top. Then I will probably have to save for my top implants/teeth. Which will take a long time.

Either way can't wait till I get my bottom teeth and can eat 😋😋😋 top ones come later. But at least I'm half way there.

There's no point to my thread really just can't wait until I can talk without feeling embarrassed and ashamed although that will take a while.

Well done for saving, implants are not cheap! I hope you feel so much better and more confident. Enjoy those nik naks! 😋

Well done for saving up for this. How much will it cost you?

SM4713 · 20/08/2023 21:55

Have you managed to sort the reason your teeth got rotten in the 1st place? Mental health support, better relationship, better understanding of health/hygeine etc?

I think I will you know. Sounds silly but it has a knock on effect . I don't really look after myself well. I'm over weight by quite a bit. I have not cut my hair, or done anything with it in about 7 years. My clothes are shit etc... but i think once I feel better about my teeth other stuff will fall into place and and I will actually want to put the effort in. So I think it will be good 😀

Well done OP, think of it as an investment in your future self.

I can't even afford NHS treatment for mine at the moment. Although finding an NHS dentist is impossible, so it's academic really.

Bad teeth have seriously impacted my physical health and my confidence. When I lost a canine tooth that shows when I smile, I decided not to smile in public any more.

Periodically, there are infections that come and go, although there isn't much pain from roots nowadays, unlike two years ago when I was often in agony. Now I just get cuts from sharp edges.

Gettingbysomehow · 20/08/2023 22:01

I've got to ask do you smoke? Smoking is one of the main causes of losing your teeth young, and if you have implants they will definitely fail if you carry on smoking no doubt about it.
I gave up after my first implant and my teeth really improved.

I don't know what it's called dentist said it can be hereditary. I also did not help matters. Also I had/have a massive fear of the dentist. And I feel very vulnerable. It only take a small thing or the dentist to say or act in a certain manner and I won't go back again for years . It will push me right back to stage one. This dentist is fantastic though so I will get there.

I'm really sorry your having a bad time with your teeth. I know what your going through tooth ache is the worst pain ever . Pain killers don't touch is once it gets so bad. There have been times i have rocked back and forth in Pain. It's effected my ears behinde my eye. And the tooth. If you have the courage try and go to one of the denial hospitals. I'm quite sure they do it for free. They may be able to help with your missing tooth as well.
