I am trying to get into audiobooks and have a free trial with audible but I can't seem to find many books that are included for free. Does anyone have any recommendations. I am looking for a good romance/drama/friendship nothing crime or thriller as I am taking a break from that genre.

Or if anyone has any tips on how to find things on audible that would be great. I am struggling to navigate it.

Not what you asked, but there's some amazing podcasts on there that are included in membership. I recommend:

Fiasco, The AIDS crisis

Think Twice, Michael Jackson

Alan Partridge from the Oasthouse

Have a browse through those and the Audible originals.

I second Poor by Katriona O'Sullivan. What a woman.

I use a free service called borrow box which is connected to the library which is really good for audio books .

The problem with borrow box is it can be quite a long wait for a loan to become available, but I agree it's still a good source for audio books.

To search for a book on audible, one way is to put the narrator you like into the search bar, and a list of books will come up eg I think my favourite narrator is Adjoa Andoh, her voice is so soothing!

A brilliant book is 'the hundred year old man who climbed out the window and disappeared' it's so ridiculous but something so completely human an pd light hearted, about it, and read brilliantly by Peter Kenny.
If you like radio theatre / drama then I can recommend the complete 'chronicles of Nania'. I read it as a child and enjoyed the series. But the adult me loved this as an easy listen. But books are so personal, as are narrators that definitely listen to the preview before purchasing!

Oh sorry op I didn't read your post properly you want to listen to the free books, not the first book you get for free....doh just call me Homer!
The easiest way to find a book go into the 'Audible plus catalog' on your home page when you log in. That will give you the books and podcasts which are a free listen. The choice is a bit limited for what you want, but if you want some spooky ones there are couple of good dramas. Looks at bit more thriller and crime based this month, they had more light hearted summer based ones back in June.
The pod casts don't change much, but the audible version of 'the importance of being Earnest' and 'Pygmalion' and 'Raj' are great!
