My DH just felt a bit crappy in the months following a Covid infection and did a Thriva health screen which included an HBA1C which came back at 60 (>42 prediabetic >48 diabetic). There are a huge number of undiagnosed T2D wandering around oblivious. He already had some retinal damage at diagnosis.

The main ones are extreme thirst , fatigue , frequent urination , urine that smells sweet and weight loss . It all depends how high your sugars are and for how long.

I had no symptoms. Went to the doctor as I had an ear infection while there my blood pressure and heart rate were high. I had a 24hr blood pressure monitor and had my blood taken. It came back I was diabetic my glucose levels were 15. HBA1C was 89! I'm now on 500mg of Metformin one tablet twice a day,10mg of jardaince,100mg of januiva, 120mg of diamicron.

I had lost 2st and exercised 5days a week and had a good diet before I was diagnosed. I didn't lose weight due to diabetes it was my hard work that did it and it took a good time to lose it. I was on insulin for a while as they thought I might be type 1 but have been taken off it. I'm also on blood pressure tablet. My cholesterol was 5.7 got it down to 4.6.
