How to cope

Really struggling to cope at the moment.

Im an in-house lawyer, I hate the job, it doesn’t suit the way I naturally work and the demands are huge. I also have 2 DC (3 and 5). In short, the stress is crippling me. My house is a mess, I’m overwhelmed & on the verge of tears 24/7, my kids diet is bad & I feel like I can’t concentrate on them - all their milestones are passing me by and I can’t focus on them.

I wish I could change careers but in reality I can’t. It would take both money & time that I don’t have.

i guess I hoping for any advice at all.

You need to get extra help - cleaning - cleaner. Nanny? Grandparents ? Aupair ? Uni student? To help with the children. Or holiday clubs for the children.

if you got a bit better routine being on top of things maybe it might be easier.

Also, where is your partner? They should be pulling their weight with the children too.

meal plan - salmon / veg easy. Chicken veg all less than 15 mins or a slow cooker too for ease.

you can’t do everything- let some things be more relaxed ….

if that doesn’t help I’d book an apt with Gp

plan - Mon - sun what everyone eating
mon - sun what’s the kids activities are to see everything a bit clearer….

good luck

Do you have a partner?

Could you use your education and skills to move to another type of work so that you don't need retraining?

Is there another type of legal work you could do in a less stressful area?
