Not following CAO

Ds is 5. His dad applied to the court for a CAO and has not once seen him since.

He openly admitted he did not want to do this but done so as he needs to build his immigration file so he can remain in the UK and the only way was for him to have a CAO stamped by the court

Fast forward 1 year later, he's not seen him even once besides a video call here and there. He rang me the other day saying once his visa needs renewing he will need me to sign a letter that says he keeps DS overnight as per the agreement etc so he can get another 2.5 visa

My question is, if the court cannot force him to have contact - is there a point in me telling them hes not stuck to it? What do i do?

No court wont do anything its just for you to make the child available on those days.

Okay thank you for letting me know. I wont waste any money or time letting them know

Well I wouldn't be be putting my signature on any document that lies about how much contact the deadbeat dad has with your DS. There is no point in letting the court know about the non contact, but I wouldn't sign an official document confirming something that doesn't exist.

Don’t sign anything! My goodness. Lying on official documentation is not something you need to be involving yourself in.

Yes definitely don't sign to say that he has his son when he doesn't. It will affect any child support he pays you and will allow him to continue being a dead beat dad whilst fraudulently getting a visa. I suggest you make it clear now that you won't be part of this.

Thank you all. I know there's nothing he can do if I don't sign that supportive letter/document. I will ensure DS is available on the days stated on the CAO as I have been doing so he has nothing against me
