Alcohol rash/flush - I've found a solution!

I'm in my mid 30s now, but since alcohol has been in my life I have (intermittently) suffered from alcohol rash.

I can get pretty bad - mainly round my jaw, neck, chest, upper arms and thighs. It has ruined many a night for me, and I'm always very worried about it happening . It can happen after just a couple of sips. Sometimes it doesn't happen at all 🤷🏼‍♀️

I saw a product advertised a while back, which claimed to inhibit alcohol flush. I bought it (imported from America) and it worked!! Worked out about £1 a capsule, and 3 were recommended at a time, so fairly expensive (depending on your frequency of alcohol intake!!).

When I really looked at the ingredients though - I realised that it was almost exclusively B vitamins. So, when I ran out and couldn't justify the cost of more, I tried 3x b complex vitamins instead.

And guess what? IT WORKS.

I take 1 x b vitamin a day anyway - but if I know I'm going to be having a drink, I'll take more prior to it and it genuinely works for me. Even if I haven't taken any, and I come out in a rash, if I take some retrospectively then it calms it down.

I'm hoping this helps someone who suffers like I do ❤️

I suffer from rosacea so this is very interesting. What was the original supplement called?

sleepfortheweek · 19/08/2023 23:25

@RudsyFarmer it was called Sunset Alcohol Reduction Formula.

I also wonder if I have rosacea, I get a rash if I'm nervous or stressed or hot too

Wouldn’t it be easier to just find an alternative drink if it affects you that much?

sleepfortheweek · 19/08/2023 23:32

@LorraineInSpain sometimes it doesn't affect me at all. Sometimes I can go months without so much as a red spot. Other items, the first sip of wine will make my fave go BOOM.

I enjoy wine, and I enjoy a drink when I'm socialising. This has been such a great help.

Would antihistamine help?

sleepfortheweek · 19/08/2023 23:38

@ThePoshUns I've tried antihistamines and they don't help, so I don't think it's an allergic reaction
