Help party games

DS is having a birthday party tomorrow. Sat here earlier and thought “omg I have completely forgotten about party games” luckily party isn’t until 3 so I’ve got time to go out and get things. He’s never had a party before and the ones he’s been to I’ve not been there so I’m new to hosting! I’ve thought of pass the parcel but what kind of things and what about the layers etc. I know there’s musical statues too. Any more? Any ideas about (cheapish) prizes? I am normally on the ball with things and I’m not as stupid as I sound right now but I’ve had a lot on and like I said I’ve never hosted before! Thanks😁

Musical statues - if you can get some stickers and give one when a child is ‘out.’
Musical bumps - as above

Pass the parcel - enough wrappers for all guests to have a go at unwrapping. The gift in the middle could just be a bar of choc or bag or sweets. Practice putting music on and off before hand. You don’t want long silences!

Pirate treasure - children sit in a circle. Choose a ‘pirate’ to sit in the middle blindfolded. Put a large bunch of keys in front of them. Choose a child to tiptoe around the circle and pinch the keys. Pirate to point when she/he hears them coming and child is out if they point to them. If they are quiet enough to get the keys, swap places and become the pirate.(nice quiet game)

Stations - Stick 4 pics or colours in different corners. Play music for chr to dance to. When music stops they choose a pic to sand in front of. Without looking 😉 choose a station. All children there are out.

Smiley faces - blow a balloon up and draw a face on it. Pass it round the circle to music. When it stops, the child holding it has to stare at it without laughing. Count down from 20 - if they laugh or smile they are out. If not, carry on.

Good Luck - include some free time to run around in the garden if poss. 7 year old boys like action!

@Fushia123 Thanks so much I would never have thought of those on my own! They’re all great ideas especially the smiley faces one😁

Well it's got to be pin the tail on the donkey! Even the adults like this game. Draw a donkey and cut loads of horse tails out - cheap but effective

You don’t need many. When you get a game the kids are enjoying, just stick with it. They are entertained for much longer than you are. I learnt this from watching the professionals do kids parties.

😀Another active one is to have a long length of string and a packet of Polo mints for each team of 2/3 players. When you say ‘Go’ each team has to open their Polos and thread them onto the string. The game is to move the whole packet along the string. First team to get them all off at the other end is the winner. They have to work together to hold the string at both ends and make the mints move along it too!
