What do I want for my birthday?

My partner and other family members keep asking me and I have no clue. There’s nothing I especially need (that I know of!) and nothing I’m particularly lusting after.
I love reading, writing, eating, swimming and need to get fitter. I also love clothes, jewellery and interior design, but I like to choose my own stuff. Heeeelp! If I don’t come up with a few suggestions I’ll end up with something random off
my Amazon wish list, like the year my parents gave me a beautifully wrapped cat toy.

Gift cards? A meal out instead of a gift? Is there a book series you would like to read but haven't bought yet, they could divide getting the set between them.

The Spicery recipe kits
Fitbit
Bullet Journal
Afternoon tea vouchers or a letterbox afternoon tea
Mon Bento box
Resistance bands
Sweaty Betty leggings

If you don’t know then you don’t need anything or ask for gift vouchers for a store you’ll definitely use.

PersisFord · 19/08/2023 18:46

A book subscription? I got 2 for my birthday and I love them both!

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 19/08/2023 18:51

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.
@PersisFord Which book subscriptions did you get?

Swimming socks/ shoes (go an expensive pair from some of or a present and I adore them!)
A subscription to a writing magazine or a beautiful notebook
a voucher
those circular plate thingies to cook homemade pizzas on
something sporty that makes you join a club like like a tennis racket, badminton racket, basketball or hockey stick

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 19/08/2023 19:01

That’s a great list, @stayathomer . I’d ask for a hockey stick just to see the disbelief on people’s faces.

If you don't need 'things' think of something experiential. Hotel / restaurant / zoo / theatre / spa / exhibition
Don't know where you're based, but even a walk round somewhere like Borough Market or along the south bank or the coast or going to a vineyard (quite a few in the south), would do me.

😅😅😅 I was going to ask my secret Santa for one before I was reminded some of the gifts will have to come from abroad 😅

What’s the budget like?

lovely fountain pen and notebook
writing retreat voucher
spice kits
tasting menu voucher
Dry robe
exercise app subscription

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 19/08/2023 22:31

Actually, a Dryrobe is a great
shout. I’ve been dithering about getting myself one.

@PersisFord Backstory looks great. I find the idea of the postcard ridiculously exciting!

I always ask for vouchers for my local hairdressers and I know I'll use and it saves me £

Pinkvici22 · 19/08/2023 22:39

I’ve just been asked this too…as I always am so thought of a few ideas:
fancy robe
earrings
Candles
perfume
posh phone case
