Removing Fabric Glue

DD has now left Brownies and wants me to put all her badges from her sash onto her camp blanket.

I blithely glued them all to her sash, as the material was too stiff to easily sew, and I seem to remember chirping at the time, "That's Future AutumnLemon's problem!"

Turns out that it's now my problem. Any top tips for removing fabric-glued badges from a Brownies sash?

Have you tried white spirit? It removes most glues.
If that doesn’t work, do you plan to pass down/sell the uniform? If not, you could cut the badges off along with the fabric they are stuck on to

Can't you just cut them off with the sash still attached?

That stuff can be really hard to shift ...
To be honest I'd probably cut the sash in half and glue it to the blanket Grin

If they are stuck fast I'd stitch or glue the sash to the blanket rather than risking destroying the badges trying to get them off the sash.

Which glue did you use?
I'd a bundle of Scout badges to fix for next week.

I used standard fabric glue. The one with the red lid that goes gloopy if you leave it too long.

I'm not averse to cutting them off the sash but not sure I have scissors that are up to the job - the material is pretty thick.

I was hoping someone would give a magic solution like "a hot iron will melt it right off" or "say 'Brown Owl' three times in a mirror and they just float straight off."
