I think I'm just always grumpy. Anyone else? Getting sick of myself to be frank.

Yep!! My user name describes how I am. 😤🙄 What makes you grumpy? For me, it’s lack of sleep and people behaving badly - no manners, etc.

UnravellingTheWorld · 19/08/2023 09:47

Yep me too. For me I have circumstances in my life that are massively pissing me off. Fortunately they are temporary and going to change, but I'm just a ball of ire most days. It seems never ending sometimes.

Indecisivelurcher · 19/08/2023 09:48

Sleep yes, but I'm starting to think there's no sure there's such a thing as the right amount of sleep!
Having a slight headache.
My kids asking me for things all the time. It's not their fault though.
I just seem to wake up grumpy.

And me.

I haven't had any time off work since March, I'm bloody shattered all the time and weekends just consist of children coming home/having grandchildren to stay and whilst I adore them all, I JUST WANT SOME TIME TO MYSELF.

Grumpy as fuck today.

Uppitywoman · 19/08/2023 09:52

It’s been going on a while as I am four years post menopausal so things had to change. I was sick of hearing my own voice! I am much better now and can laugh at myself about it more. I’m still an uppity woman though! Still have the grumps now and then.

coffeestrongblacknosugar · 19/08/2023 10:21

I was grumpy yesterday. Peri/menopause, trying to get my HRT balanced, husband going through cancer treatment, work being shit, people just not doing their jobs properly, lazy nonsense.

I am physically, mentally, emotionally exhausted and when I got home from work there was mess everywhere and I just lost it. The rage I felt was ridiculous, so I rage cleaned and then felt better.

Today is a better day. I need some proper sleep, a rest and fuck knows what else.

JMAngel1 · 19/08/2023 10:26

I’m not but my DH is - it’s exhausting.

Indecisivelurcher · 19/08/2023 10:39

@JMAngel1 It's exhausting being it too.

@coffeestrongblacknosugar you've got some very legitimate reasons for being grumpy! Hope you can take some time for yourself.

I do not have legitimate reasons!

@Indecisivelurcher I appreciate that - and I appreciate that I just seem to have a sunnier disposition than DH or I dread to think the atmosphere my kids would be growing up in. I struggle with how to help him - find myself walking on eggshells around him and trying to mitigate risk before it happens - it’s not a fun way to live for either of us.

Indecisivelurcher · 19/08/2023 11:26

Does he realise he's like it @JMAngel1 ?@JMAngel1

You probably do have legitimate reasons if you are willing to scratch beneath the surface OP.

What I thought was perimenopause grumpiness was actually just being in a substandard relationship with a lack of mutal respect for one another and a job where I am micromanaged to death.

The relationship has now ended. I'm getting my ducks in a row with work. And believe it or not I haven't lost my shit once since my STBXH left two months ago. Funny that.

I sleep better without him coming to bed late, snoring and then getting up for work at 5am too.

You don't need to help him. You don't need to fix him. You just need to leave him. See my post above. Read Women who love too much. The scales have fallen from my eyes.

coffeestrongblacknosugar · 19/08/2023 11:35

thanks OP, but I hate feeling like this, no control, life is happening to us, but no pity party here! We have come so far and will carry on.

Everyone has reason to be grumpy and we can't be happy 100% of the time, that isn't a true reflection of life. I hope you feel more like yourself soon. Flowers

NewYorkFirstTimer · 19/08/2023 11:38

Yes. Other people piss me off constantly and I spend most of my life trying to avoid them. Unfortunately I can't afford to retire or live in a detached house... so I am always, always irritated, angry and anxious.

CyberCritical · 19/08/2023 11:41

Sat in a fast food place feeling grumpy because you can only order in the touchscreen thing, the menu is badly laid out, some of the stuff I wanted is unavailable and I've ended up just angrily picking a random meal I don't think I even want. The world is annoying and seems to be deliberately set up to piss me off.
