It's not on trust pilot but it looks legit - is on Facebook

Mintoutletuk.com

I'm thinking it's dodgy even though all branding is Mint Velvet?

type in x reviews and you’ll find out

Totaly · 18/08/2023 18:08

Or go to trust pilot

MarmiteWine · 18/08/2023 18:11

Just a glance at the "Faq" page throws up several red flags!

Is this a scam site ??

There was a similar one for Craghoppers recently as well - crazy prices not aligned with their proper website, but very well done and nearly fooled my (usually fairly savvy) uncle.

MarmiteWine · 18/08/2023 18:14

And then there's this

Is this a scam site ??
MarmiteWine · 18/08/2023 18:17

And the Returns and Refunds page is just laughable!

LaurieFairyCake · 18/08/2023 18:19

It's not on trust pilot Confused

No, I mean there's no reviews or listing on trust pilot

Sorry if that's not clear Blush

Most random websites on FB are scams, avoid.

PatriciaHolm · 18/08/2023 18:28

malwaretips.com/blogs/mintoutletuk-com/

I wouldn't go near it.

LaurieFairyCake · 18/08/2023 18:30

Thanks for that, I can't find it at all on trust pilot - it's likely I don't know how to use it as I've put in the full name and nothing comes up

OP posts:
LaurieFairyCake · 18/08/2023 18:33

So the site I posted about is called Mintoutletuk.com

The one reviewed on trust pilot is Mintukoutlet - so it's no wonder I wouldn't have found it as not the same

Probably still a scam though

OP posts:
SchoolBlazers · 18/08/2023 18:36

Not probably.

Definitely.

I cannot believe people are still falling for these sites. In fact, it's almost as if people pop on here to helpfully link to the sites, with the wide-eyed "is this real" posts, in the hope suckers will see ££££ and think they are getting a bargain.

bluechilli47 · 18/08/2023 18:38

The website address is wrong. Anything UK based is usually .co.uk
Something being uk.com is usually dodgy, pretending to be UK but not.

How annoying it's a scam - Facebook really shouldn't be providing links to the items - the Mint Velvet branding is literally on the Facebook page

How the hell do they get away with this shit !

OP posts:
BarbaraV · 18/08/2023 18:57

Yes

I work for a company where we buy from dodgy Facebook ads and report what happens. That one is a scam site. You can usually spot them with the about us/shipping page.

Escapingtherealityoflife · 18/08/2023 19:00

I was fooled by a Sketchers one. I’m usually really good at checking. My email was sold on to all manner of dodgy people. The spam was ridiculous at one point.

BibbleandSqwauk · 18/08/2023 19:08

Anything with UK.com at the end lately is to be avoided. Fatface and CathKidston have been "done" with the same sort of thing.

AllLopsided · 18/08/2023 22:19

Ooh, those screenshots are a proofreader's dream Grin

MarmiteWine · 18/08/2023 22:46

@AllLopsided they're a very clear indicator that something's not quite right, aren't they?

The part about declined payments is concerning, and suggests this might 'somehow' happen commonly. An easy way to get a lot of financial information from someone.
