We've done a few things this summer including going away and had fun but I'm finding one of my children doesn't like to go out as often as when she was a younger child? I'vee suggested different things but I get a a now. In her watching TV or playing games. I need to get out at least once a day? She says she happy.

A lot of people are. Some people are homebodies and some aren't.

My DC1 has always liked only going out 1-2 times per week! He’s been totally fine this holiday with that schedule. I look back at his younger years when I used to ram the holidays with worthy trips to parks and libraries and feel really bad now!

That's exactly like how I feel. She says she is happy and just stays in her room. We've been out a few times this week but mainly town or nans house. She will go if I book a theme park but finds walks and Parks boring now well with me. With friends she says its more fun 🙄

So my tween would be like this if left to her own devices but the problem is if I let her she ends up getting dressed very late, sleeping very late, eating rubbish, putting on weight, not getting much exercise, spending time online too much in her room, her mood becomes low, so this summer holiday she goes to a day camp 3 days a week, 1 day a week we chill at home where I let her have a lie in only go out if needed but we do things like play games, watch netflix together, , and 3 days a week we all go out as a family do activities or little trips away.

Can't afford camps sadly. We have played games and have been away twice this yesterday to different parts of the country. I'm just talking about getting out just to go for a walk or a park. Something not pricey as I have booked her first concert for November and she wants to do Harry Potter so I'll book that for Autumn too. I'm talking about doing simple cheaper thing's outdoors as the weather is nice now in the holidays and I miss that with her as she used to like doing simple little things.

9yo DS is like that. We have a rule that he has to be dressed by lunchtime and we go out if he gets bouncy. It’s his holiday.

My 12 year old hasn't wanted to go out and do anything this summer. I dragged her out a few times for local events, and once to an amusement park, but otherwise she's been really happy just chilling at home, reading and watching tv with me.
