Netflix and tech - feeling super stupid

I didn’t realise that Netflix shows different trailers for the same film depending on your taste

so heart of stone - my husband sees it as a full on action/spy movie - like a marvel movie and then some (looked brilliant)

my trailer was rubbish - showed the two main characters having a dull flirty conversation in a pool (because I like working moms, Emily in Paris and other similar “women-led” programmes perhaps)

i feel a bit duped that tech is able to manipulate us to this extent tbh. Can’t we all just see the same trailer and decide if it’s for us?!

Did not realise that was a thing!
TBF I recently turned off the auto trailer/play thing so we see fewer trailers in general but I was totally oblivious that we get different trailers based on watch history. 🤯
(shouldn’t be that shocked given where we are right now though)

What trailers on Netflix?

so when you hover over the film (say while scrolling through the top 10) a mini trailer (or preview) plays - totally different for my husband and me

Think some films also allow you to actually play a trailer but that’s not what I’m talking about

Yup, and we have different pictures too.
