Can you put a holiday notification on for whatsapp?

Just that really - don't want to answer them on holiday.

Set it to busy? Or set it so it doesnt show when you were last online so they won't know

Put it on your 'About', or post it as your status.

How do yiu set it to busy?

Just turn off your notifications for WhatsApp so messages don't appear.

Don't want people to think I'm ignoring them.

But you will be. It's fine to ignore people if you're on holiday!

Remove notifications and do a status update saying you’re on holiday and you’re ignoring your phone while you’re away.

I left my work group then rejoined after I was back.

I was only thinking about this today as I set my out of office in work can you believe! I have decided to literally message my friends/family and say I am muting them till available and to contact me via text instead if urgent and I will call and just mute school/work/activity ones etc.

But you only see status when you first search someone, not once you've started communicating.

Go into the app. Click on the 3 dots in top right hand corner.

Where your profile pic comes up it should say something like "hey there, amusing whatsapp" that's the default message. Click on that and set your status to Busy or whatever suits.

Was just gonna post this @PatrickGammon You can change the text on the Add About bit (in settings...) I just changed mine to 'just in the middle of a dream' to practice! Have you tried this @GiddyUpH ??? Just write in 'away til 25th August 2023' or whatever...

Just mute the chats

You can delete entire app, anyone trying to message you will only have one tick so will know you haven't got it. If an emergency they can try to text or call. You could also change your status to explaining this before you delete the app
