Thank you gift/act for PILs

My PILs have gifted us some money which we have used for something v important. We'd like to say thank you properly. One thing we'll definitely do is to invite them round for a very special meal at outs, with a nice thank you cake, a few words said at the table, film with the kids and so on.

What else can we do? We've thought of hotel vouchers but im not sure how that'll go down. Any other ideas?

One year i got a picture painted for my mum of a place from her childhood by a woman from a FB group. The woman wasn't a professional artist as such, but she knew the place and the picture was gorgeous. My mum cried when i gave it to her (happy tears!). It was very affordable when i think of all the time and effort that went into it, and the end product is beautiful. Maybe see if something like that is possible?
