Early labour

Sorry for not posting on the relevant board, but they’re always quiet and I never get a response over there.
Can anyone give me an idea of what happened to them during pre/early labour please?
I’m overdue with #2 after a big age gap.
I had a stretch and sweep this morning and ever since I’ve had awful burning pain at my cervix, gradually getting more regular. No contractions, just all in my cervix and lower back. It feels like baby’s head is pushing down ready to come out but I know without contractions it wouldn’t be considered labour.
The pain makes me stop what I’m doing to breathe through it, and I have a high pain threshold.
Would you consider all this to be where my cervix has been disturbed or is it the early stages of labour in your opinion?
Trying to plan ahead as I already have a child to consider for childcare reasons when full labour begins. I didn’t experience this before as DD was prem. Thanks!
