Dead mouse smell in carpet help

What would you clean this with? Whilst I was on holiday the cats have brought in a dead mouse. It crawled under some furniture and has died, probably been there for a few days and the smell is something horrendous. What would you clean the carpet with? It’s a dark carpet so assume not bleach. The smell is unreal

We had this. Woke up to a ripe humming smell in the bedroom. Found the mouse belly up later that day right underneath our bed. We washed and washed and rinsed and washed with hot soapy water then diluted floral disinfectant. Had to lift the whole bed up to get at it properly. It was horrendous.

hot soapy water x 2
bicarb of soda x 2
and it still smells of death
