Do you think hearing of other people’s crap news….

That it really focuses your mind on your priorities? So many rubbish things happening around lately, people we know of being diagnosed with horrid things & divorces, redundancies, dementia.
Sometimes it really makes me rethink about what I’m doing, and brings some perspective as to what is most important. It makes me feel guilty if I am having an ok time of it or have just moaned that the train was late, or something… because other people have worse problems and it’s pointless sweating the small stuff and worrying too much

I feel like this all the time but not because I compare it to worse things. I just know the little annoyances are temporary and a waste of energy

Absolutely OP. On a very selfish level, I sometimes feel I can't have a moan about little things to certain friends who have had a lot of heartbreak or difficulties in recent years. Sometimes you need a little moan but only when you acknowledge that's what it is!
