What do you enjoy about your child?

My GD is nearly 2 and her parents have several forms to fill in from the HV, prior to her 2 yr assessment.

"What do you enjoy about your child?" is the last question.

As a grannie, what I'd say is - being playful, and redeveloping the sense of wonder of seeing the world through a child's eyes (and something about the snuggles too!) Of course, being a grannie is v different from being a parent, so what would you say?

Her curiosity, innocent wonder, genuine kindness, getting to know more and more about who she is and what she loves every day. Her relationship with her dad and younger sibling, and how we are developing our own special family dynamic. Her imagination. And yes, the cuddles. The very best.

She is just 3. Her sibling still very small so mainly enjoying the cuddles there but know it gets better and better (and harder and different but also better!)

Oh gosh, everything. I love her enthusiasm, she throws herself into everything and is so fearless. She’s also so caring, she saw me get a tiny cut on my arm nearly a month ago and she still says ‘poor mummy, you hurt your arm’ every couple of days. She’s also so funny and silly, and just generally a little firecracker. She’s only 2, can’t wait to see how she develops as she grows. Kids are the best.

13YO DS still says "Mum, you're the best". Enjoying this while it lasts ...

I thought the 2 year check was about the child's development? I would never be able to answer such an open question about my child.

The fact that we created such different people, who are all happy in their own skin and who get on with each other well and are loyal devoted siblings.

My 4 year old is the best! I just love his little company and the stuff he comes out with and how he’s curious about everything. He’s so caring and kind and loves animals and he’s so cheeky and loving. Of course he can be annoying as hell too 😂
