Advice for visiting Disneyland California

Hi - has anyone been recently? We are considering going, and I am not sure which park to book tickets for. We have DDs 10&7, and could probably afford one park, one day.
Any advice on how best to use this time would be appreciated.

Are they Star Wars fans? If so you have to do the Park, the Star Wars stuff there is staggering.

If you have done DP paris, there is some crossover with the adventure park - tower of terror (though guardians of the galaxy themed now in US).

How brave are they? Are they likely to want to do rides that are dark - pirates of the Caribbean and haunted mansion? They are great fun but I wouldn't have got the now rollercoaster mad 17 year old on them at 7.

Is recommended the Disboards forum, that will have lots of good Disney advice (there is a Disneyland California subsection on there)

It’s quite hard to choose one park, as they are both great but quite different. California Adventure is fab for the marvel area, the Incredicoaster, and World of Colour. The Disneyland park is very nostalgic though, and has the Star Wars but which is amazing! Maybe go for the park hopper option so you could try both in one day?

Thanks everyone, good idea to look at the disboards forum…I’ll go there. Not sure I can handle a hopper and do two parks in one day…the thought of all the queues and standing around waiting is not enticing!
