Keep seeing this ad popping up. What on earth is this site selling?! What’s the green thing in the woman’s mouth? Weird!

Lip plumper? I can't see but is there a difference between the 2 pics underneath?

toomuchfaster · 15/08/2023 22:07

I saw that weird legged thing on mine and scrolled past quickly! I don't want it in my algorithm.

Singleandproud · 15/08/2023 22:09

The hairy stomach bumbag is quite something

Curfewgull1 · 15/08/2023 22:09

Am scared to click on it!

I get this on my phone, but not on my laptop as it has ad blocker.

MMBaranova · 15/08/2023 22:13

TEMU. Ultimately China based, and manufacturing, selling platform for things you never knew you really didn't need. But they are cheap. The mix of products offered to you MIGHT be based on your searching and clicking or it might all be some utterly batshit weirdness.

64rabbits · 15/08/2023 22:13

I keep getting ads for the hippo earring that looks like a bum hole at a quick glance. So annoying.

YakChewCrumbs · 15/08/2023 22:13

It had an ad for a cat poo calendar earlier. Lots of iffy images too on other days. It's actually putting me off coming on to MN.

VikingLady · 15/08/2023 22:15

I clicked on the weird green thing out of curiosity. It's a Squeezy thing for exercising your face and tightening your jaw.

CrunchyCarrot · 15/08/2023 22:15

The weird legged thing is a tardigrade or moss piglet! they are absolutely minute so don't worry too much about them. I only found out they exist whilst watching the Iceland volcano stream. Lots of moss there - lots off tardigrades!

CrunchyCarrot · 15/08/2023 22:16

*of tardigrades. Getting late here!

ellisjames · 15/08/2023 22:18

They use ridiculous pictures so that you'll click.

Curfewgull1 · 15/08/2023 22:18

You’ve really got to wonder who buys this stuff. A hairy belly bum bag! Just what I’ve always wanted.

These ads will be directed at you specifically as well

MMBaranova · 15/08/2023 22:25

Image from a CNBC video yesterday.

They want to hook you and draw you in as a gaming, repeat buying, punter and before you know it your home will be full of mail order tardigrades and other strange things.

You know when you see online advertisements for something [medical / dental / cleaning] that is apparently sweeping [where you live or where they think you live based on your IP] but nobody you know in Sweepingville has ever heard of it? It that but based on cheap labour, cheap goods and viral marketing of plushy tardigrades, beer gut bags and dresses.

I get these as well (and the cat poo calendar - BIL Christmas present sorted). I’ve never clicked on them (was worried the month thing was a random sex toy) but I did zoom on the leggy thing the other day and found it looked like some sort of soft toy. I don’t see these ads on any other website.

Doghairismyglitter · 15/08/2023 22:44

I keep getting those exact ones too, but had them on Mumsnet, The Sun and an urban exploring webpage. Never clicked on them but they seem to be multiplying over websites.
