Reporting noisy cars

I live near a road that is used by ‘boy racer’ idiots. I’ve been told they modify their exhausts in some way, in order to make a loud noise, and that it’s illegal. Whatever they do, they’re driving me mad. Night and day all I can hear is the screeching and crackling/banging/exploding sounds from their engines. They woke me up at 3am this morning. I can even hear them when I’ve got the TV on and the windows closed. These noisy exhausts seem to be more and more common. I heard someone accelerate out of Tescos this afternoon and it sounded like a firework display.

Apparently, you can report them, so long as you get the licence plate. But is it worth it? The police are generally useless when it comes to anti-social behaviour.

Well if you don't report it then you can't complain the police are 'useless'!!

Problem with the boy racers is they literally have to ge caught in the act. The police aren't going to go to the veh owners address hours later.

If its an ongoing problem I'd report it, again and again. There's a similar problem in the area I.cover at work (police) & due to the regularity and frequency of the complaints we ended up sending cops into the area at the weekends to deal with it.

But they're not psychic. As pp said you can't call them useless if you're not even reporting it
