Restaurant near Sheffield for FIL’s 80th birthday

FIL turns 80 in the next couple of months. We'd like to take him for a special meal somewhere, but all the places he suggests seem a bit "everyday" for such an important occasion. He lives just south of Sheffield, but we'd be happy to drive out a bit for the right place.

Two of his grandchildren are vegan, so somewhere that could accommodate that would be helpful!

Does anyone have any good ideas?

Either silversmiths (city centre) or rafters (nether green way) if you want something really nice.

For something a bit different, you could look into Joro. It's incredible food and they do have a vegetarian menu (which for my liking is better than the regular one). They can probably adapt to vegan. The only thing is the setting - the doors are a little small and the whole thing quite modern.
