I have just started new meds and have zero appetite. I don't have any nausea, just zero desire for any food at all.
This is a massive change for me as the new drug is an add on to other anti epilepsy drugs including Lamotrigine, which made me want to eat all day every day, especially sugary stuff. It was really really hard to control, but I eventually managed to get into "rationing" out treats such as chocolate, it was extremely hard to do initially but eventually I managed to get into the routine of basing my day around looking forward to treats eg book and a few biscuits at 7pm (god that sounds so sad but I love a routine anyway so that helped me). Lamotrigine is a nightmare, I could literally eat a whole pack of chocolate digestives (and I mean the long pack!) in one sitting. And then do it again an hour later...
But now I just can't face eating, I really don't want to eat any food and I'm literally forcing myself. It's just a huge change and it's thrown my routines out too! Ive had the most success with bananas, the small pots of rice pudding/custard and yoghurt.. DH has been encouraging me and would buy and cook anything I wanted (eg steak which would be a rare treat usually).
Does anyone have any ideas? No allergies, I'm a healthy weight but I small and sedentary so don't actually need many calories. Nothing salty as I have bitten a chunk out of my gum, and soft/none crunchy food is easier atm. I think a few small things a day would be easier than proper meals.
My fucking seizures aren't even controlled atm so I'm at the point of just stopping all meds (which I know would be foolish) so I need to get a grip on this. I know MNers will have good advice/ideas
so thank you in advance!
(I also know quite a few of us are epileptic so any experiences with Cenobamate would be really good).
