How are they honestly going to know?

Theblacksheepandme · 15/08/2023 06:05

Do you want to change hairdresser within the same salon or go elsewhere? If elsewhere you won't see them again.

I just left and went else where

Because they share photos of new clients in the All Hairdressers WhatsApp Group so the old hairdressers know that The Code where you must stay with the same hairdresser for life has been broken.

Meanwhile, back in normal person land, you are free to go wherever you like and your old hairdresser will probably not even notice or care that you don't go there any more, and if they do, they'll probably just think you moved away, stopped getting your hair cut, fancied a change, went somewhere cheaper/fancier etc.

I’ve changed hairdresser (still within the same salon) in the last few weeks. My previous hairdresser was the salon owner but she was frequently away on the day of my appointments and changing my appointment (and time) to another stylist. It’s happened in 3 out of the last 5 appointments.

I have no bad feelings towards the salon owner but I need a reliable hairdresser.

saz2022 · 15/08/2023 09:07

Different salon but I will need to cancel appointment I'd made.

Cancel your appointment and make appointment for your new hairdresser. If you're not happy go somewhere. We will change hairdressers throughout our lifetime. Those same hairdressers also get new clients. Don't worry about it.

Conniethecatapillar · 15/08/2023 09:28

I change all the time and don't give it a second thought!

Don't be so fucking rude.

Ahh I think some replies are a bit harsh. I also have felt awkward when changing stylists/moving as if you've had a good relationship with them it's hard not to worry it may be taken personally.

I recently had to change at my salon as the amazing guy who did my hair was just getting too expensive. As he was also co owner I just bit the bullet and called him. He was really pleased I wanted to stay with them but price was making me reconsider so he made no fuss and moved me down a stylist level. I see him every time I go in and he always greets me as he used to.

Unfortunately new lady who I've been with a few years is now getting very ££ Grin I may need to have The Conversation again!

Thanks for your input. I suppose the main issue is my hairdresser is a 'one man band' so a little bit awkward !
Will say I can't make next appointment and hopefully that will be it.

If they ask of you'd like to make another appointment when you phone to cancel just say, I'm mot sure what my work shifts are coming up or I'm not sure when Im away on holiday but I'll get back to you.

Bluevelvetsofa · 15/08/2023 13:12

I have always said that I need to cancel the appointment, then don’t make another.

I had a hairdresser I liked, who offloaded me on to a different stylist and when he left, she offered me a stylist I’d seen there, but didn’t think she’d be right for me. They’ve gone massively expensive now anyway.
