I feel rubbish.

I've had:
Paracetamol
Spicy chilli and ginger noodle soup
Chocolate ice cream

...and have cat on lap.

Anything else?

Do you have to wait until you have a cold?

Longer term, I swear by echinacea tablets and elderberry syrup if it goes chesty.

Thai food (that combo of ginger,garlic and chill in a wet sauce) tends to cheer me up no end.

Chicken and veg (and noodle) soup is good for a soar throat.

I've seen a few +ve Covid tests on my feeds this week (not been near any of the inflicted). They only tested because friends suggested it probably was covid.

Raw garlic on your dinner. Double whiskey before bed. Nose bottles.

Dh swears by a 'Bombay Bad Boy' pot noodle, a large whiskey, and a bottle of the OG lucozade to swig throughout the day.

Hot toddy, dads recipe.

Minimal exertion - don't move more than you absolutely have to.

My friend swears by a hot toddy. I've not tried it though.

I say for a sore throat, dissolve a teaspoon of salt in water and gargle: its miraculous.

For blocked nose try steam.

That sounds like my dream Friday night 😂

Echinacea

A double brandy in warm milk with cinnamon and/or honey

Hot milk with dark rum in it.
Cold tinned custard with shortbread fingers.

DH always insists on making hot lucozade when dc or me are ill. I was sceptical at first but now the idea has grown on me and when the kids are ill the first thing they ask for is hot lucozade.

Whisky Mac - whisky and ginger wine.

Wear a woolly hat, even to bed.

Mustard by the spoonful, as much as you can manage. it does wonders for settling upset stomachs, too. Counter-intuitively. It's my secret remedy.

Any mustard? I love mustard.

Pseudoephedrine (not non scientific, actually works like magic)

Neat vodka to stop it spreading to your throat
Hot chilli to clear congestion

Generally Dijon or even Heinz mild. Admit i find Colman's a bit too hot.

A curry, a nandos, sudafed

Scare it away with half a bottle of wine and a hot toddy.

I am spotting a theme here so I should probably point out I'm an ex-drinker 😂 I do have this spooky sort of feeling that McDonald's chips might help?

I agree with PP pseudoephedrine is a miracle drug. Combine with paracetamol and glass of whatever you fancy.
