Hello lovely people,
Please please I need some advise for self charging hybrid as a second family car for city driving, school runs etc.
Needs to have good space at the back for 2 Adults and one car seat.
Shortlisted:-

  1. Toyota CHR
  2. Toyota Yaris Cross
  3. Ford kuga

Any other cars I should consider or rule out completely?
I liked chr but the rest window seat is very small making it dark. Yaris Cross is 1.5 litre engine(had 1.5 in my previous car too) so wondering how the pick up will be when fully loaded..
Any suggestions please to help me out as I need to buy very soon.

We have a self charging Ford Puma and love it but not sure you would get two adults and a car seat in the back. You could in our Cmax which we also loved but it was diesel and we were hit by ULEZ and it had to go.

Hi @Rocknrollstar thanks for your response. I am now looking at Niro electric as well as it comes within 20k too... so almost same price or maybe even cheaper than hybrid.

Puma does look on the smaller side but how fuel efficient is it and how comfortable to drive? I am planning to go to few dealerships and do some trial runs but before that I want to get some hookwork done so I can buy quickly.

The CHR is a horrible car that uses loads of fuel and has terrible visibility at the sides and back. I hope they don't sell them without cameras because you'd be literally reversing blind.

We have one at work, I've nearly run out of fuel a couple of times because it didn't occur to me that you could get through a tank that quickly.

Hi @BarbaraofSeville thanks I think so too that the CHR has a small rear view and I don't want to be reliant upon camera. I thought it was very fuel efficient but good to know your experience on this.
