Super king fitted sheets - what to do with them when the elastic goes!

Exactly as the title really. I can’t sew so can’t replace the elastic or make pillowcases with them. I don’t want to cut them up and make cleaning cloths as I already have two carrier bags full of cut up towels etc for cleaning. It seems such a waste of perfectly good fabric to just throw them away.

Any suggestions?

Have you got any double or single beds in your house? You could use it as a flat sheet and just tuck in the corners.

Or put it with your decorating stuff and use it as a dust sheet the next time you decide to give your paint work a touch up.

Take them to your local alterations person and ask them to do it.

We use ours as decorating and diy sheets for covering furniture and carpets

If the sheets are In otherwise good condition, sew on some more elastic.

Our charity shop accepts clothes/bedding etc for recycling. Better than binning them

Honestly not hard to replace the elastic, just watch a couple of YouTube videos and do it.

Put them on Freecycle or similar - someone will have them. And maybe they can put new elastic on

I have never had sheets where the elastic has gone before the sheets have worn out, which suggests to me these must have good quality and probably worth saving. Ring up your local alterations person and ask how they they would charge. It’s such a quick and easy job I can’t see that it would be much.
