Help me decide what my flexible working request?

I have worked full time Monday to Friday 9-5 for 3 years. I have two children and after a holiday and some time off I realised I need to reduce my hours.

my Oh works very long hours, usually over his scheduled hours.

I work 3 days from home, 2 in the office which is an hour drive there and back (4 hours per week).

When I started I worked from home 5 days a week. This has slowly increased to 2 days and I feel like this is what is making it difficult for me.

I finish at 5pm, home for 6pm need to cook dinner, tidy. I feel like I am getting no time for homework, or clubs for them/me or time to support and help them with life’s ups and downs. I’m always working or getting organised.

tomorrow is my first day back after a 2 week break.

I want to reduce my hours but not sure what formation

9:30-2;30 Monday to Friday which would give me an easier morning and enable me to do school pick up and drops offs. Currently I do none of these 25 hours

9-4:30 (reducing lunch break by 30 hours and having a Full Friday off) 28 hours.

any other suggestions?

I'd go for option 2. Otherwise you will still be doing a two hour commute two days a week just do a 5 hour working day.

I would go for a different option of 3 full days and 2 half days until 12.30 which would be working from home. This is what I do and it gives me a couple of hours twice a week to do all the organising and life admin stuff or just a couple of hours to myself when I need it.
I found that finishing at 2.30 every day made me feel I was always in a rush as it was finish, collect kids, do a club, get dinner etc and was busier than when I worked until 5.30

Have a full day off. I work 9.30 - 2.30, it means I dont need childcare which is great, but I'm always rushing. To get to work on time, to get to school on time. If I need to do anything I need to drag them with me, my children are particularly trying in public though, that might not be an issue for you.

I'd love a day off per week to gather myself and I'd lengthen my work days and pay childcare to achieve it.

Also gives u a day less per week to arrange childcare in the holidays and gives you 6 long weekend to enjoy trips or play together.
