How much has your home insurance gone up by this year?

Mine has gone up 28%! Last year it went up 10% which was bad enough, but 28% is way more than inflation. Is it typical? How much did yours go up by?

I've benchmarked my quote against an alternative provider but that was even higher. Now I'm procrastinating about using a comparison site - I hate giving them my details, and these days they don't let you be anonymous or use false details so, before deciding, I'm after a steer as to whether a 28% increase is par for the course this year.

Mine went up 25% but I just used a comparison site and it dropped 25% - so £100 cheaper than renewal price and cheaper excess!

20% !

I think you're daft to consider paying 28% rather than use a comparison site.
There's SO much data being collected about you, that basic household address details are the least of your worries.
