Does this mean every part of London ?

Also, can some clever person tell me about the bordering bits .

I've looked online and can't really "get it "
Thanks.

Map, postcode checker etc.

The expansion isn’t until the end of the month though so may not apply if your journey is soon?

ULEZ: Where and when

Where and when the ULEZ will operate

It's not every part of London. It's a very wiggly line, Heathrow isn't in it for example. But then I've found out Chessington is, so need to remember to take my DHs car 😂

itsmylife7 · 14/08/2023 16:37

I'm crap at maps 😄and won't necessarily have postcodes etc.

Just a thought - Can you not just stick it into Google Maps? ULEZ starts at the end of my road so it comes up as a warning every sine time I use the navigation!

RoseAndRose · 14/08/2023 16:47

Well, if you're unwilling to use a map, and don't have postcodes, the I don't think there's much that will help you. Because those really are the two ways by which the info is promulgated

OP said just before your post (? x-post) that she is crap at maps, so this won't help her, because it depends on being able to read a map to work out where the warnings actually are

NoTouch · 14/08/2023 16:49

If you can't do maps or postcodes how would you like the information shared?

Nooo? Not an actual map which is probably a lost skill for a lot of people. Google Maps, the app, that gives you directions. You just type the address you’re going to and you don’t even need the postcode- you can put 123 BFF Street, Wandsworth Prison, Ikea Croydon or wherever the hell you’re going to. And presumably OP knows her own address where she’s starting. Then it tells you if it goes through ULEZ when it spits out the best route. Easy peasy. No map reading required. And it OP can’t do that then god help her and all the drivers of London 😂

ULEZ does not come up on google maps in my London/county border journeys- is there a setting for it?

itsmylife7 · 14/08/2023 17:43

I'm a lost cause 😁

It comes up right under the drive time on mine. And there’s a big warning on the screen when it’s plugged into carplay. I’ve never messed with the settings, it’s just always there by default. Whenever I go anywhere!

🤣 well if you can’t look at a map, can’t figure out the postcode, can’t use google maps then not sure what you expect anyone to say?! Do they still have psychic hotlines?

Jokes aside though presuming you can navigate your way to your destination then you don’t have to pay before you travel, I think it’s within 2 days, so keep an eye out for the signs and if you drive past one then pay once you’ve arrived. Just don’t forget!

CheersToMe · 14/08/2023 18:45

Thank you - it shows the current ULEZ but not the upcoming extended zone.

Presumably that will come online on 29 August, and be very useful.

TropicalTrama · 14/08/2023 19:38

Glad it was helpful! And yes it won’t show what doesn’t exist yet so will only tell you if today’s journey is within the current zone. Hopefully it’ll update accurately post expansion on the 29th as it’s going to impact a lot more people.

CheersToMe · 14/08/2023 20:23

Having Google's, other platforms such as Waze also carry the info.
It will be essential given that the counties are refusing to have ULEZ signage on their highway land. More chance of accidentally entering the zone.

OP there are specific roads, those that go in and out of the London boundary, that will be ULEZ exempt. I suggest having a phone satnav on at all times will be the easiest way to understand the zone.
