Flea prevention

Please tell me if I’m being irrational. I have one 6 year old dog who has been fortunate not to have fleas but I flea treat her every few months anyway.

but basically, a relatives cat and their house has had a major infestation, despite said cat being an indoor cat, someone must of brought them in from clothes or shoes.

they’ve treated the cat and relatives have helped with vacuuming and sprays etc, relative is immobile so a struggle to do thorough cleaning themselves. Thought it was finally under control with help from us all.

we visited a few days ago, and I noticed fleas on my child when we left. So cue me freaking out (I have anxiety) I stripped both kids off when we got home, showered then washed the clothes and shoes we were wearing and put clean clothes on and give the car a quick vacuum as didn’t have much time, but did it again today.

I plan to flea my dog as have treatment in the cupboard ready to go.

I vacuum my house regularly and thoroughly!

Anything else I can do?

I may spray the carpets off my car (seats are leather so probably don’t want to spray them with kids sitting on them too).

dd has nasty bites on her!

also, advice on getting rid of an infestation for good?!

Sorry if I sound OTT. I have anxiety which I’m currently in therapy for. I also grew up in a house with 10 cat and parents who never got fleas under control so I was constantly bitten and the bites would get infected.

My cat got fleas once when we changed vets and I was not on the ball with her prevention. I saw one and took her straight to the vets so i understand the panic! I sprayed indorex all over my house. Have you tried that?
