Sudden lower stomach pain and back pain?

Hey guys. Right after dinner I got a sudden lower stomach pain that’s so bad and basically it feels like I’m about to have diarrhoea but I don’t. That’s what it feels like, that kinda tummy pain. The pain is radiating to my back too and I can’t even sit properly or lay down properly. It kind of comes and goes. I’m fine for a few seconds and then the pain comes back and it’s bad. It feels like I’m about to have an upset stomach basically. What does this sound like? Food poisoning? I didn’t even eat anything weird. It’s so bad that I was unable to hold my 9 month old DS to feed him, I don’t know how I managed to make him sleep not long ago. How can I get rid of this pain?

I had this when DS was 2-3 months old too. The pain kept me up till around 2am and nothing would help. That time I did get diarrhoea (twice) and I only felt better after I vomited twice

You need to phone 111

Which side? Could be appendicitis - you need to see a doctor!

It’s not on any side, it’s in the whole of my lower tummy and it just feels like I’m about to get an upset stomach (which I probably will do soon). At times I feel like it’s a little better (when I’m lying on my stomach) but then the pain gets bad again.

I’ve been on 111 online and I’m going to get a callback from an out of hours GP

Honestly if you can just make your way to A&E. You're probably going to end up there anyway and you might as well make the wait as short as possible. Pack a bag of essentials (phone charger, water, any meds you take) and go.

Hope you're okay ❤️

If it's really bad, it might be an ovarian cyst that has twisted. If it is really bad, you need to go to A&E, but if you can tolerate it then stay at home.

When I had griping pains like that earlier this year, I called 111 and they referred me to an out of hours GP at our local hospital (it was late in the evening). It's worth getting it checked out, and if 111 refer you, they give you appointment time so you are not hanging around in A&E for hours.

I only waited 10 minutes. It turned out I had appendicitis, and they operated the next day.

I really don't think this warrants a trip to A&E. What if it ends up being an upset stomach on the way or while you're waiting.

Maybe see what happens in the next few hours OP. You may get diarrhea and it may ease off. Hope you feel better soon.

I’m going to get a callback in the next 2 hours apparently. I do feel like it’s getting better but I still feel like I’m about to get the worst upset stomach. It only got better when I had diarrhoea and 2 bouts of vomiting last time

What did your stomach ache feel like with appendicitis?

It was a stabbing, griping pain that came and went in waves. It was mainly located between my belly-button and top of my right hip.

QuestionableMouse · 13/08/2023 22:26

How are you feeling now? Did you get an answer? 😊
