What's happening to me?

I turned 40 at the start of the year. My sex drive has plummeted, my teeth are falling apart (have had more fillings in the last 6 months then in the last 6 years) and I've had a bad smear test result requiring treatment. I feel like shit.

Have you had all your bloods checked and vitamins.

To be fair, I'm pretty overdue in getting my thyroid checked but I've been on the same medication for it for years.

I second this.

Do you floss daily and do you eat lots of sweets treats?

I don't eat a lot of sweets. I've never flossed (my bad) but I'm not sure why that would be causing so many issues now? Have I just hit that age where everything starts to catch up with you?

We all get things go wrong and health scares and stuff at some point or other as we get older OP. Often they pass.

Praying for you to have a smoother time of things. x

Are you taking any different medication?
My sister had to take a med for something and it rotted her teeth
Are you grinding your teeth?
Xx

I second getting a blood test. I’m peri menopausal and until I started oestrogen pessaries, had a very low libido, atrophy and (amongst other symptoms) found my teeth becoming very sensitive.

Why40 · 12/08/2023 22:45

Oh, and I've developed a weird dry skin patch on one eyelid!

I think I might try and get a general blood test.

Definitely worth getting bloods done if you feel rough, it's so easy to get a deficiency for instance. I've had them a few times.

I take a multivitamin and mineral supplement just to make sure, and would recommend that.
