Hi all,

A mum that I kind of know has invited my kids to her daughter's 5th birthday party. I've only met the child twice in passing and haven't got a clue what to get for her gift. All suggestions welcome oh wise mumsnetters!

Anything Barbie, unicorn, sparkly, craft sets, Lego friends. These are all the things my dds have loved at a similar age

Yes to Lego friends!
My almost 5 year old also likes craft, colouring, reading books (magic faraway tree is a good shout). Also floor puzzles and those Orchard Tree games (get a higher age). Or book voucher so she can choose her own?

Personally would put £5 or £10 in a card and maybe wrap a chocolate bar or sweets (not necessary). My daughter just had her birthday party and got a ridiculous amount of gifts, someone gave her £5 and she was really excited to choose a magazine with it.
